The 13th edition of Prism, the Annual Film and Photography Festival of the Jagannath International Management School unveiled on March 24, 2017 at the auditorium of its Kalkaji campus. The festival was organized in association with Institut Français and Ambassade De France En Inde. The well acclaimed filmmaker Mr Vijay Jodah and Ms Nikita Arora, CEO Webnell were the external judges for the event.A total of 60 films were screened in the festival
JIMS,Lajpat Nagaroragnized for its BBA 2nd year students an industrial visit on the 21st of Feb’2017 to Ultra Tech Cement Plant.The visit was planned to give them an insight into the cement industry. The tour of the plant began with a presentation by the company officials about its inception & operations.This was followed by a tour around the plant to allow students to witness the working of the machines, process of manufacturing , means of transportation and raw material used. The trip around also included an overview of the packaging of cement and a word about safety measures observed by the workers while working in the plant.
The visit , on the whole, was informative and a good learning experience for the students.
On the 23rd of March’2017 , JIMS ,Lajpat Nagar invited Ms.Shrishti Puri- an alumna of Lady Shri Ram College- to interact with the 2nd year students of BBA and BCA on the importance of positive attitude and professinal skills required in the corporate world. In an hour long lecture , Shrishti mentioned how a change in the mindset could alter one’s course of life. She stressed that action rather than passive desire was the key to success and warned the students against the ill -effects of idling. The lively lecture comprised several examples and activities directed towards igniting , in the students, the spark to learn and do something. Being an activist against child abuse and an entrepreneur , Shruti shared a number of examples from her own life in these two roles.
The lecture was , all in all, quite informative and animated..
Mr Sudhir Tandon, veteran filmmaker and founding executive director, Lok Sabha Television addressed all the three batches of mass communication students on March 15, 2017.Mr Tandon emphasised on the importance of picture composition .
JIMS believes in showcasing the talents of students , Annual Departmental Fests is one such platform to showcase such skills . BCA Department organised AnnualIT Fest CYNET on17th March 2017 where in participants from various colleges participated in various events and showcased their skills.
Alumni are an important part of our existence and we always try to stay in touch with them and make them an integral part of our growth .In this spirit JIMS organised an Alumni Sports Meet on 11th March at Srifort Sports Complex.Various Sports were organised where inAlumni from various campuses participated ,competed and won accolades also.
AAHAR is an International Food & Hospitality Fair organised from 7th March to 11th March 2017 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
This event showcases products like Fresh produce, dairy products. confectionery/chocolate, desserts, bakery products & ingredients organic & health products, frozen, canned & processed products, meat,poultry & sea foods, cheese & fine specialty food snacks, wines,cutlery & crockery, convenience food, additives & preservatives used in Hotel, Restaurant & Catering Industry.
It provides a platform for Hotel Management students of JIMS to learn & absorb new techniques & changes which Hotel industry is undergoing to bridge up the gap between academics & Industry.
