Alumni Meet 2016  was held on 17th Dec, 2016 at Chelmsford Club, New Delhi. The enthusiastic JIMS  alumina enjoyed the event,   as the outpouring of affection and emotions were seen in the former students of JIMS .

 

 

 

Digital Transformation through Digital Marketing strategies

For some time, there has been growing talk on a need for a ‘post-digital marketing world’ where the use of digital technology in marketing has become so omnipresent we no longer complete separate “digital marketing activities” since they should be fully integrated and simply part of marketing. This philosophy is partly determined by changes in customer consumption where they continue to consume content in different forms without intentionally thinking about which devices or channels.

Digital marketing is a term for the marketing of products or services not only using digital technologies, mainly on the Internet, but also including mobile phones, display advertising, and any other digital medium. The current trend shows the way thinking should be heading in future, but it’s a long way from the reality for many businesses are only just starting to get adjusted to digital marketing. At early levels of adoption one may have to make the commitment to transform marketing by setting goals for digital marketing, setting an integrated digital strategy and bringing in specialist digital marketing skills – through a combination of new hires for new roles, use of agencies and re-skilling existing marketers. New marketing processes are also needed which integrate digital to the heart of strategy, investment and marketing campaigns.

Digital marketing activities with the greatest impact are Big Data (including market and customer insight and predictive analytics),Content marketing, Communities (Branded niche or vertical communities),Conversion rate optimization (CRO) / improving website experiences, Display (Banners on publishers marketing applications, Mobile marketing (Mobile advertising, site development and apps),Paid search marketing, e.g. Google Ad Words Pay Per Click Online PR (including influencer outreach), Search Engine Optimization (SEO),Social media marketing including Social CRM and Social Customer Care, Wearables (e.g. Apple Watch, activity trackers, augmented reality).In order have people to driving into your marketing funnel, there first has to be traffic on your website. There are variety of ways you can drive traffic to your website. Here are a few of them recommended:

  • Quality Content: Use content such as blog posts, press releases and articles on authority websites. Insert links to various places on your website within this content to build your brand name through exposure and drive traffic to your website.
  • Keyword Strategy: Inserting related keywords into content will help your content and website show up in more search results, this leads to higher volumes of web traffic.
  • Website Optimization: Ensuring that your website is optimized and functioning at its best is essential. People don’t want to visit a website that doesn’t work properly.
  • Social Media: Use engaging social media posts to attract more traffic to your site. Using pictures, video, and other relevant media will help your posts get more engagement.

With both competitors and potential customers constantly online, Digital marketing is the only way to stay ahead. When you’re a small business owner the online world can seem unapproachable. In an ever more multifaceted retail environment, customer engagement is essential but also challenging. Retailers must shift from a linear marketing approach of one-way communication to a value exchange model in which there is a two-way joint dialogue and benefit-sharing between supplier and customer. It is important for an organization to reach out to consumers and create a two-way communication model, as digital marketing allows consumers to give back feed back to the company on a social based site or straight directly to the firm.

A digital writing media  workshop was organised for the  students of Mass Communication and Journalism .Mr. Antrik Anwesan , the creative executive, handling the digital media of 93.5 FM conducted the session .
